PRACTICE POLICIES
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a foundational part of therapy. Information shared in therapy is kept private and confidential in accordance with state and federal laws. There are limited exceptions to confidentiality, including situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, abuse or neglect of a minor, elderly, or vulnerable adult, or if records are subpoenaed by a court.
Full details regarding confidentiality and its limits are provided during the intake process.
Communication Between Sessions
Email and messaging may be used for scheduling or administrative purposes only. These methods are not appropriate for clinical communication, crisis support, or emergencies.
Therapeutic issues are best addressed during scheduled sessions.
Fees & Payment
Fees vary by service and are discussed prior to the start of therapy. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. If insurance is used, clients are responsible for understanding their benefits, including copays, deductibles, and coverage limits. Any balances not covered by insurance remain the client’s responsibility.
Detailed financial policies are reviewed and signed before services begin.
Scheduling & Attendance
Sessions are typically scheduled in advance and occur weekly or biweekly unless otherwise discussed. Consistency supports the therapeutic process, and regular attendance is encouraged.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so as soon as possible. A minimum notice of 24 hours is requested for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee, which is discussed and agreed upon during intake.
Insurance
Insurance coverage varies by plan. While claims may be submitted on your behalf, insurance companies — not providers — determine coverage and reimbursement. Verification of benefits does not guarantee payment.
If you have questions about using insurance, this can be discussed prior to scheduling.
Emergencies & Crisis Support
This practice does not provide emergency/crisis services.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are in immediate danger, please call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
Therapeutic Relationship
Visiting this website or contacting us does not establish a therapist-client relationship. A therapeutic relationship is only established after an initial consultation, completion of intake paperwork, and mutual agreement to begin services.
